This walk will cover two miles of the North Ward & Lower Broadway riverfront between Clay Street and Chester Avenue. Examine opportunities for new riverfront parks! Discuss how the neighborhoods of Lower Broadway and the North Ward can be more connected to the river! The group will discuss ideas and how people from Newark and beyond can make them happen. Also hear the stories and meet some of the Newarkers who have organized their neighbors to shape our community, and the major debate around the Passaic Superfund clean-up.
Join the movement to connect Newark to its river! Please wear comfortable clothes (pants suggested) and sturdy closed-toe shoes. You are encouraged to bring a bottle of water.
