Newark Riverfront Park is Expanding! Take the Design Survey and Tell Us What You Want to See Developed Along the Riverfront!

Help us design Riverfront Park! Take the survey below and give us your ideas for what the expanding Riverfront Park will look like.
We are adding 15 more acres to Riverfront Park, extending it all the Bridge Street in the North Ward. James Corner Field Operations, the designer of the High Line in Manhattan, is leading the design effort and is seeking public input on the features and amenities we as a community want to have in the expanded park on the Passaic.

July 8-9: 2nd Annual Newark Riverfront Hip-Hop Festival featuring Rah Digga

Newark Riverfront Revival hosts the 2nd Annual Riverfront Hip-Hop Festival with this year’s theme of “Hip-Hop for Political, Social, and Environmental Justice.”

Friday, July 8th, 8pm – Screening of Rubble Kings, a film by Shan Nicholson, that looks at the climate that gave birth to the music and culture of hip-hop, as a movement of political, social, and environmental justice.
“From 1968 to 1975, gangs ruled New York City. Beyond the idealistic hopes of the civil rights movement lay a unfocused rage. Neither law enforcement nor social agency could end the escalating bloodshed. Peace came only through the most unlikely and courageous of events that would change the world for generations to come by giving birth to hip-hop culture. Rubble Kings chronicles life during this era of gang rule, tells the story of how a few extraordinary, forgotten people did the impossible, and how their actions impacted New York City and the world over.”

Saturday, July 9th, 3pm-8pm, Riverfront Hip-Hop Day at the Orange Sticks
