Join your neighbors for a free & fun walk along 2 miles of the Lower Broadway riverfront to discuss its history, present, and future.

North of 280 Newark Riverfront Walkshop

Meet at Burger King parking lot at 2 Clay St, Newark, NJ 07104
Free and open to the public, but RSVP required!

This walk will cover two miles of the North Ward & Lower Broadway riverfront between Clay Street and Chester Avenue. Examine opportunities for new riverfront parks! Discuss how the neighborhoods of Lower Broadway and the North Ward can be more connected to the river!  The group will discuss ideas  and how people from Newark and beyond can make them happen. Also hear the stories and meet some of the Newarkers who have organized their neighbors to shape our community, and the major debate around the Passaic Superfund clean-up.

Join the movement to connect Newark to its river! Please wear comfortable clothes (pants suggested) and sturdy closed-toe shoes. You are encouraged to bring a bottle of water.

Exploring Port Newark on the River!

This summer we really expanded our popular boat tours giving Newarkers a rare opportunity to get on the Passaic River. Our Port Tour explores the Port of Newark, giving people a unique view of the largest port on the East Coast and 3rd largest port in the United States, one of the gems of the city!

Newark Movie Mixtape

Cities exist in brick & concrete but also live as dream images and fantasy locations. On Friday, September 12, 2014, come to Newark’s riverfront for the debut of Newark Movie Mixtape, a composition of over 20 feature films, promotional clips, music videos, and more featuring Newark & Newarkers. From silent shorts made by Thomas Edison (1890s) to Alfred Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Brian De Palma’s Wise Guys (1986). and the “Wrong Side of the Tracks” video by the Artifacts (1994), this screening shows Newark over the course of a century. Come relax on the River-Watching Hill and see 20 real & imaginary Newarks projected against the skyline.

Frank received his musical training here at Rutgers University where he studied with Kenny Barron, Walter Bishop Jr., Ted Dunbar and Frank Foster. Frank has shared the stage with such Latin Jazz luminaries as Eddie Palmieri, Richie Flores, Mario Rivera, Louis Romero, and Alfredo De La Fe.
