Cities exist in brick & concrete but also live as dream images and fantasy locations. On Friday, September 12, 2014, come to Newark’s riverfront for the debut of Newark Movie Mixtape, a composition of over 20 feature films, promotional clips, music videos, and more featuring Newark & Newarkers. From silent shorts made by Thomas Edison (1890s) to Alfred Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Brian De Palma’s Wise Guys (1986). and the “Wrong Side of the Tracks” video by the Artifacts (1994), this screening shows Newark over the course of a century. Come relax on the River-Watching Hill and see 20 real & imaginary Newarks projected against the skyline.
