2nd Annual Dance Newark! – Movements of the World Lights Up the Riverfront Stage!

Our 2nd Annual #DanceNewark! event was a huge success thanks to all of our performers, partners and attendees.

As promised, we witnessed dancers from all over the world, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company representing traditional Chinese dance, Heritage Irish Dance Company representing Irish Step Dance, Felipe & Rafael of Brazil, Ricardo Santiago with Flamenco from Spain, all around Latin America and the Caribbean with Smiling David’s Dance School and right back to #Newark, New Jersey with a headlining improvised performance by Newark’s own tap master extraordinaire, Maurice Chestnut with one of the world’s greatest street dancers Storyboard P from Brooklyn, NYC.

Special thanks to Dance on the Lawn, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Gallery Aferro Mobile Portrait Studio, Friends of Riverfront Park, National Endowment of the Arts, and Victoria Foundation for making this event possible.
